Are you monstera mad? Do you live in a zanzibar zoo? Save the date and join our creative celebration of houseplants with talks, workshops and stalls!

Based on London's wildly successful Garden Museum’s Houseplant Festival curated by Alice Vincent, the Melbourne debut will feature your favourite plant people including the founders of Leaf Supply, The Plant Runner and Planthood.

Both new and seasoned plant parents are welcome, with something for everyone in our exciting festival program.

Master the art of plant parenting and become a more confident plant parent in just one day. 

We have a line-up of Australia's plant experts and entrepreneurs including Lauren and Sophia (authors of Leaf Supply & Plantopedia), Dom (co-founder of Plant Runner, featured in The Block), your favourite instagram celebrity Alan from @plant.jungle and our very own Lila (founder of Planthood). You'll learn about positioning plants like a pro, using the best soil and more!

Looking for a creative plant experience? Join a staghorn fern mounting workshop with Plant Jungle, a terrarium workshop or a kokedama making workshop with Plant Whisperer.

Curated by Lila, founder of Planthood, this creative celebration of houseplants will spark joy in the hearts of every green-leaf admirer.

Planthood was born with the desire to offer bespoke potting mixes that are ethical, nutrient rich and completely cruelty-free. Our mixes are created to make you a confident and conscious plant parent.

All our mixes are made without blood, bone or fish fertiliser and instead use sustainable organic or vegan amendments.

Founded by Lila and based in Melbourne, where all potting mixes are handmade with love.

The Plant Runner

Founders of The Plant Runner Dom & Duncan are horticulturalists and leading experts in indoor plant care, being regularly featured on The Block and major publications across Australia.

The Plant Runner are on a mission to make plant care easier and more beautiful with their curated selection of functional accessories, good quality materials and easy to understand info. The Plant Runner will be there with their iconic Plant Runner Truck so be sure to check them out!

Kinya Lerrk

Kinya Lerrk is an 100% Aboriginal owned and operated business that creates design and art to make homes and offices come alive with products which celebrate Aboriginal culture and respectfully acknowledge traditional owners of land.

Aboriginal visual artists Emma Bamblett (Wemba Wemba, Gunditjmara, Ngadjonji and Taungurung) and Megan Van Den Berg (Dja Dja Wurrung, Yorta Yorta and Boon Wurrung) from Kinya Lerrk will be bringing botanic inspired homewares and art.

Backyard Botanist

Backyard Botanist was born from a love of all things green and good. Nothing makes us happier than delivering gorgeous new greenery, or the perfect present.

Terra Topia

Terratopia is here to offer you a daily dose of tranquillity. Perfect for home or office these miniature wolds under glass have low care needs and will bless you with daily invitations to get lost in a little pocket of nature, captured just for you. 

Terratopia terrariums are created on Wathaurong land and 10% of their Melbourne Houseplant Festival sales will be donated to Djirra, an organisation supporting Aboriginal women. 

Wy Plants

Wy Plants is a family run nursery that loves indoor plants as much as you do! You'll find Wy Plants in Tecoma at the foot of the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.

Plant Collector Melbourne

Plant Collector Melbourne (PCM) was established in 2020 by Sam Roxas after following her passion for plants, love for people and enthusiasm of bringing people together to create community. PCM specialises in rare, tropical plants, care and accessories and is based in Brunswick (soon to be Richmond).

She has a soft spot for Anthurium and Philodendron so she’ll be bringing lots of rarities and is always eager to chat about all things plants!

Melbourne Candle Co

Melbourne Candle Co. specialises in candles and indoor plants, which go together perfectly! Each smell is named after a historical Melbourne place based on the influence that area had on the city.

Melbourne Candle Co. was founded in 2014, and all of their candles are handcrafted in Melbourne by creator Edward Pascoe.

The Pot Dealer

We are a Melbourne based retailer and wholesaler of pots and other homewares and accessories. We have a forever expanding range, find us at our Huntingdale store or online at www.thepotdealer.com.au

FAQs

Can kids visit free?

Yes! Children under 12 receive free admission.

All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Is there wheelchair and pram access?

Yes! Once you have your ticket scanned, you will be directed to an accessible entrance. There is also a lift in the venue between levels.

Can I get a refund or exchange?

No, however you can freely transfer your ticket to someone else.

To transfer your ticket, click on your digital ticket link and provide the name and email of the person you are transferring to and click "Update Ticket Details".

How will I get my ticket?

You’ll be sent the link to your digital tickets when you complete your booking. Please contact us if you do not receive your digital ticket.

Can I volunteer?

We have some volunteer positions available. Please email plants@planthood.com.au with a paragraph about why you think you're suitable to volunteer at The Houseplant Festival and a link to your Linkedin.

Will there be tickets at the door?

We highly recommend booking tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. A small number of tickets will be available at the door.

How can I get there and is there parking?

Tram

Trams 1 & 6 stop about 6-8 mins walk from The Wool Mill.

Bus

Bus 510 stops about 4 mins walk from The Wool Mill.

Car

Free all day street parking is available at this time of writing.
